Đây là nơi thu hút lượng lớn khách nước ngoài đến để tìm hiểu về lịch sử Việt Nam. Trải qua hai cuộc kháng chiến chống Pháp và Mỹ, Bảo tàng Chứng tích Chiến tranh là nơi chuyên đề nghiên cứu, sưu tầm, lưu trữ, bảo quản và trưng bày những tư liệu, hình ảnh, hiện vật về những chứng tích tội ác và hậu quả của các cuộc chiến tranh mà các thế lực xâm lược đã gây ra đối với Việt Nam.

Bảo tàng trưng bày một số hiện vật, hình ảnh tội ác của Mỹ - Ngụy trong chiến tranh với các chủ đề: lính Mỹ tàn sát nhân dân, rải chất độc hóa học, tra tấn, tù đày, chiến tranh phá hoại miền Bắc.

Các hiện vật như máy bay, đại bác, xe tăng, máy chém và hai ngăn "chuồng cọp" được xây dựng đúng kích thước như ở nhà tù Côn Ðảo. Có các phòng trưng bày về: Chiến tranh biên giới Tây Nam, chiến tranh bảo vệ biên giới phía Bắc, vấn đề quần đảo Trường Sa, âm mưu của các thế lực địch.

Bên ngoài, bảo tàng có những gian hàng trưng bày, giới thiệu sản phẩm văn hoá dân tộc Việt Nam, phòng rối nước Việt Nam. Hơn 20 năm qua đã có gần 6 triệu lượt người xem, trong đó có gần 1 triệu lượt khách nước ngoài, đông nhất vẫn là các du khách người Mỹ.

Nơi đây kể cho người xem câu chuyện về sự thật khủng khiếp của chiến tranh, về những đau thương, mất mát và cả tinh thần quật cường của dân tộc Việt Nam. Một địa điểm không thể bỏ lỡ với bất kỳ du khách nào khi đến tham quan thành phố.
You'll need 2-3 hrs to properly visit and see all 3 levels, lots to see, any believe its only 0.75$ an entry for so much history and information. Great site
- Closes between 12-1.30pm but your ticket is valid for the full day so plan ahead as you will need a good 1.5hrs walking around the museum. 15000dong per person and apparently 2000dong for locals
- Like all the other tips say, this is a somber place, especially once you get upstairs to the photography section [e.g. the Effects of Agent Orange Exhibit is enough to calm anyone down].
- If you’re into history and stuff, this museum is for you. An eye-opener to every visitor on the sad effects of war. Donate if you can to the victims of Agent Orange. A little help goes a long way..
- Very worth to visit. Very valuable sculpture of religious God , inclusive of Hinduism and Buddhism. very exquisite and fine carve. It's a must-to-go in HCM.
- Really interesting museum. Just be aware it closes at 12-1:30pm but you can keep your ticket and re enter.
- The big items outside and the war accoutrements inside are good but the real value here was the pictures and the history and background eg project Orange.
- Morning timings are from 7:30am to 11:30am and it's worth visiting. If you have a flight in evening then for partial time you can come here and visit
- Very powerful pictures of journalista who died during the war while covering it on the 2nd floor. The Agent Orange room shows how bad humans can damage a society.
- Could be so much more. But not bad for 40,000VND and if you’re in the area, anyway. Leave 1-2 hours to go through. Agent Orange photos are intense.
- One of the most thought provoking places I've ever been. Higher floors aren't for the feint-hearted. The effects of Agent Orange will sicken and shock you. Humans can be so evil and cruel
- History and the vietnamese perspective of war. It is difficult to stand in front of it without feeling sad, very harsh moments and picture that represent a truth.

- Must visit. Don't miss level 2 where photos shot by war photo journalists are- many died in the process. Also see impact of orange agent.15k dong. Set aside 1.5 hrs. War planes & chinook on display.
- Warning: extremely graphic and heartwrenching images. Needed to step out and cry partway through. Nevertheless, important to see to understand the impact of war. Be wary of taking children here.
- They close from noon to 1:30 pm each day. Get in early and finish your by noon of Ho after 1:30 so you don't have to return to finish your.
- After checking out the tanks and planes out front go to the third floor to the "historical truths" and read between the lines recognizing that it is a Vietnam War Museum in Vietnam. Very interesting.
- The museum's a good place to learn about Vietnam's past but beware of cyclos outside the gates [or anywhere else in HCM]. THOSE CYCLO DRIVERS ARE SCUMBAGS WHO WILL EXTORT A HUGE SUM OF MONEY FROM YOU.

- Th reason I hate wars!!! Wherever or whatever war it is. The effect of it is felt by all of us. It was heartbreaking to see civilians caught up in it all. But you must see. Where is the peace?

- Fairly standard museum experience. I feel it could have been more. The courtyard and prison sections are better than inside.
