2007 bmw 530i m sport review năm 2024
It's been four years since BMW's current 5-Series made its first appearance on the Australian stage. But while the passing of time has brought stronger, fresher rivals it remains the standout choice for luxury buyers, outgunning all to take the bestselling gong in its segment last year. Show
Now we have a new, revised 5-Series to ponder, but don't go looking for major visual clues. While BMW has fiddled with the headlights, grille and tail-lights, the new Five looks much the same as before. Which, depending on your opinion, is either good or bad. Inside, the changes are just as subtle. There are new door trims, materials and colours, as well as a simplified iDrive system, but little else of note. That's a good thing in terms of space, comfort and adjustability, but the BMW still trails the best for perceived quality, small-item storage and ease of use. Standard equipment, too, isn’t exactly jaw-dropping in the case of the $113,500 530i tested here, with stuff like leather and power seats standard but full satellite navigation (as opposed to the standard, bare-bones version) left to the options list. Safety, though, is strong and technology like active variable-ratio steering is now standard, bolstered by options like night vision, lane-change warning system, head-up display and active cruise control. The 530i's majestic 3.0-litre straight six now pumps out more power, jumping 10 kW to 200 kW. The six-speed automatic has been extensively revised and picks up the trick electronic shifter first seen in the new X5. The result is even stronger performance. There are no holes to be found in the 3.0-litre six's power delivery, just a single, linear sweep that grows stronger in proportion to the revs used. It's butter-smooth, even when screaming towards its lofty 7000 rpm rev limit, and sounds fantastic. While ultra-keen drivers might prefer a manual gearbox, the mandatory six-speed auto isn't a ticket to Boredom County. Shifts are smooth, swift and it's not easily confused. The new joystick shifter, though, feels a bit plasticky when shifting manually. But fuel economy is brilliant. We averaged an impressive 9.8 L/100 km on test, close to the official claim and a match for some four-cylinder vehicles we've tested. One obvious improvement over early Fives is ride quality, with our test car doing a decent, if not amazing, job of soaking up the kind of low-speed urban bumps that made their presence felt in the old car. BMW cites improved run-flat tyres, but our car's set-up - it ran standard suspension and 17-inch wheels, where others we've driven have touted a sports suspension and 18s - might have had something to do with it. No ifs or buts are required when discussing the handling. While the active steering takes some getting used to in low-speed manoeuvring, it's nicely transparent and very precise on the open road. Throw in the prodigious grip, wonderful balance and great brakes and the Five is still the mid-sizer to beat for driver satisfaction. The technology, too, works. You realise the worth of the head-up display as soon as you drive a car without it. The lane-change warning system and active cruise control, too, are effective and intuitive. While the difference between new and old Fives isn't big, BMW has managed to polish the strengths while smoothing out some of the lows. It probably wouldn't have everything its way in a strictly luxury-based contest, but as a sporting luxury sedan it's still the one to beat. The 2007 BMW 5-Series is very comfortable, it’s fun to drive, and the sticker price has come down quite a bit over the years, starting at under $6,000. But it’s expensive to maintain, and will probably break down for good within a year of driving it off the lot. A Volvo S80 does just about everything a 5-Series does, but better. The 5-Series is one of the most comfortable cars on the market, and it’s fun to drive. If you buy one with 140,000 miles on the odometer, you’ll be lucky to reach 150,000 miles without an expensive repair. Is the 2007 BMW 5-Series a Good Used Car?
Positive Owner ReviewsGood Car. Reliable and comfortable. It's a very good car that when it needs repair It cost a lot to repair. But it does not break down a lot. It is comfortable and can withstand long drives. It is very nice ride and looks nice. It has Bluetooth, Stereo, satellite radio and aux plug. The AC is cold and the heated seats are nice. Reliable, comfortable, s**y looking Problems ,very expensive to maintain and only be cared for by a BMW dealer, parts are expensive . Performance, car run very well very fast car sits down well on open road, does not eat up gas. Reliability, does not need more than a normal maintenance like oil change, brakes , tune up. Comfort, very luxurious feeling, leathers seats sunroof, navi system, very beautiful car. BMW xi 525 is a great ride I purchased the vehicle about two years ago as a pre owned 2007 BMW with well over 100k miles on it. Since my purchase, I have managed to add a significant amount of additional miles and the car still runs exceptionally well. With it being an older model, I was impressed with the amount of fast-forward features. The comfortable seating and spacious interior has accommodated plenty of fun trips. Overall, I have been and continue to be satisfied with my purchase. Luxury Sports car for any Age This is my second BMW. I LOVE IT. I have had it since it was new, have had nothing major regarding repairs, it's easy to maintain, a wonderful drive with plenty of room and speed. Even after twelve years it runs great and gets good gas Mileage. It's style stands the test of time. I can't imagine not having a BMW. Smooth and Built to last. I received the E60 in 2014, and boy is My car really is reliable. I like the fact that it has a smart sensor to help you know what your car needs. One of the main issues, premium gas and poor city gas mileage. The car is a bit heavy, in my opinion, it is an E60 though. The facts about my Bimmer. It's very comfortable, and spacious. Sporty and luxurious. I've had it for a year and I have to replace the starter. The parts are easy to get. I don't have to wait to order them. Very efficient on gas. Has a Bluetooth Option so you can hook up your phone to the car and talk while driving. CD player holds six CD's. There is rear heat and cooling controls. And also has a sunroof that opens two different ways. The shape is very slick, and the interior is nice It drives very well and smooth, I haven't had any problem with it since I've gotten the car. Since I live in a place that snows during winter the heated seats are extremely helpful especially because the seats are leather Great car, but expensive upkeep It's older now, so it has some issues with acceleration and power. Additionally, fixing it costs a lot because it's a BMW. That being said, it's been running smoothly since 2007, and it has 160,000 miles on it. I can probably keep it past 200,000 Negative Owner ReviewsThe brand’s cache is gone. It’s now an expensive minor league status symbol. The car drives well, but in these times, many do. The problems are too many, from the computer to the plastic pieces. The repairs are too expensive, the competent shops too few, the dealers too far-spaced. If you don’t live in or near a major city, don’t buy a bmw. The engineering is questionable and bmw doesn’t exactly run to your side in the event of a problem. If they do, get ready to PAY. The BMW 530i is a very sporty vehicle. It's a nice luxury car at the same time. The BMW 530i is a nice car but the retail trade in value is very low and they do have mechanical problems later on. Something that I've noticed is that the 5 series is really fast and can just about race anything from a mustang to a challenger. The BMW is a nice car it has great potential to be a very good car if you get it brand new and are the first owner. Overall BMW makes great cars and they have great features. I like BMW cars, the color and series. However, the car is small inside and wish they came with a bit more room. accountCircle Christine L The inside of my vehicle is beautiful the luxury is awesome. My 2007 BMW 5 series has cost me more to maintenance it then to purchase it. When things go wrong you must go to a specialized mechanic that has a computer that can hook up to the BMW. Parts cost a fortune because they are foreign and if you have to buy a part from the junkyard they can also run you big money one used axle in my car from the junkyard cost $900 and that did not include the mechanics hours of doing the work. Also buyer beware-there is a recall because the airbags do not deploy when you are in an accident unless you have brought it in to have the airbags replaced. accountCircle Tulibelle I Driving performance it grips to the freeway smooth, Had to replace the water pump, smelled gas besides a few problems had been a good vehicle and I live the performance while driving long distances the stability in the road Why I love my car and accept it with a defect My cars ac constantly goes out. The car gets extremely hot inside. Other than that I love my car. It lets me know if the air is going out in the tire it also has a computer that notifies me if anything is going on with the car. I also have GPS navigation that shows me the maps of the street The ride is great, smooth and comfortable. It is a very smooth ride. It has AWD good for snow. The problems with it is repairs are outrageously priced gas is ridiculously pricey. If you cannot afford the repairs you shouldn't buy this vehicle. It rides like a dream. It is nice on the eyes. It is a status car. Fun and fancy but financially a monster. My car is a fantastic winter vehicle with AWD, heated seats and steering wheel, Bluetooth for ha sake free communication. It has decent mpg both highway and city and it is an overall fun car to drive. However, when it breaks down, it is nothing less than $1,000 to fix every single time. What Do Critics Say About the 2007 BMW 5-Series?Consumer Reports called an earlier model of the 5-Series “CR’s best car tested for two years.” They declare the 2007 model a step down, citing the awkward iDrive control system and wonky handling. But, they note that the car is more fuel-efficient and roomier than ever. Kelley Blue Books found the 2007 5-Series to be stylish and powerful, delivering a solid blend of style, luxury, and performance. But, they note that BMW’s edgy new look might not be for everyone, and the car is far from being a cost-effective purchase. Edmunds found the ride and handling “exceptional,” they liked the high-end finish in the cabin, and they were impressed by the tight build quality. They also added to the consensus that it’s overpriced, even for a luxury sedan, and the iDrive system is confusing. What Common Problems Does the 2007 BMW 5-Series Have? The 2007 BMW 5-Series has generated 274 complaints with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. 78 of these are for issues with the airbags, with drivers reporting the airbag warning lights clicking on, and staying on, at around 100,000 miles. 50 electrical complaints point to problems with the headlights stemming from corroded wiring. Specifically, the insulation may rot or attract rodents, leaving the wiring exposed. One driver reports the wiring literally disintegrating. Steering has generated 40 complaints, with drivers reporting the wheel locking in place and the car failing to start. The 2007 BMW 5-Series has been in total, which is a bit high, but still reasonable for a vehicle this old. How Long Will the 2007 BMW 5-Series Last?BMW owners typically report mileage of around 150,000 to 200,000 on the original transmission. A BMW can easily outlast that with regular maintenance, but the car demands expensive specialty care, and 150,000 to 200,000 miles is usually where drivers decide it’s no longer worth the cost to keep it running. Repairpal estimate an annual maintenance cost of around $684, which is considerably higher than you’d be paying to maintain a typical sedan from this model year. New head gaskets are the most expensive common fix, costing up to $3,671. Like with any car you have to put a little bit of tender love and care in it to keep it a good car. You have to keep it serviced, and only run good gas in it. It does not have any major problems with me because I bought the car when it was in perfect condition. Yes it has problems. It's very expensive to repair and upkeep. You have to own one mainly in dryer conditions or if you live where it doesn't snow. It does go thru gas bad, a lot of recalls and the dealers are over 2 hours away. How Is the Technology?Entertainment technology in the 2007 BMW 5-Series is pretty good for the model year. MP3 players come standard with 10 speakers, and the premium sound package upgrades you to a Logic 7 system with a 6-disc CD changer. Safety technology is good for 2007. Stability control and anti-lock brakes come standard. You won’t find more modern features like rearview cameras, as these were hard to find on anything but a luxury SUV back in 2007. Is the 2007 BMW 5-Series a Good Value? The 2007 BMW 5-Series isn’t a great value, even though it’s priced to move, with a 530i sedan typically listing at around $5,682, and a 530xi wagon going for around $7,012. That sounds like a good deal for a car with under 140,000 miles on the odometer, but that’s how they lure you in. At 140,000 miles, a 5-Series might not have more than 10,000 miles to go before it requires a $3,000 repair. When you add in all the little here-and-there repairs that come with owning a BMW, you might as well double the sticker price, because that’s what you’ll likely be paying in the first year just to keep it running. What are the Different Models of the 2007 BMW 5-Series?The 2007 BMW 5-Series is available in rear or all wheel drive, in sedan or wagon body styles, but the standard features are the same no matter your build:
What Engines Come In the 2007 BMW 5-Series?
What Colors Does the 2007 BMW 5-Series Come In?How Comfortable Is the 2007 BMW 5-Series?BMWs are among the most comfortable cars in the world, and the 2007 5-Series is no exception. The interior trim is first class all the way, the suspension rides nice and smooth, and the back seat is nice and roomy. You should be able to seat four or five adults without issue. How Much Storage Space Does the 2007 BMW 5-Series Have? The 2007 BMW 5-Series offers up 14 cubic feet of storage space in the sedan model, which is good for the size class, packing up to five medium sized suitcases. The wagons offer up to 58 cubic feet of cargo with the seats folded down, which nearly puts it into compact SUV territory. What Are the Differences Between Years? The 2007 model 5-Series was the fourth model year in the car’s 5th Generation, which ran from the 2004 to 2010 model years. 2005: The 2004 model BMW expanded the 5-Series’ interior space and added the iDrive infotainment system. The 2005 model offered few change after the more dramatic overhaul the year prior. 2006: BMW dropped the 4.2L i6 engine in the 550 for 2006, switching over to the more powerful 4.8L. 2007: 2007 was a facelift model year for the car, featuring a revised interior and expanded back seat. 2008: Auxiliary input jacks were made standard for 2008. 2009: The iDrive system was revamped for 2009, featuring a redesigned and more intuitive interface. How Does the 2007 BMW 5-Series Compare to the Competition?A Volvo S80 packs many of the same standard features as a BMW 5-Series, it costs around the same, if not a few hundred dollars cheaper on average, and it’s arguably the most reliable used full-size sedan on the market, and provably the safest. The Toyota Camry would be an excellent alternative, but 2007 was a particularly bad year for the nameplate, with lots of expensive engine problems to look out for. There’s a lot to like about BMWs, but as used cars they’re among the worst cars on the market. If you really want to drive a BMW, you can just about guarantee that Volvo offers a safer, more reliable, more affordable alternative. It has a sunroof and you can Bluetooth your phone to the car in case you get a call while driving. I highly recommend best car for a family car. Yes it is I would recommend this vehicle to everyone because it is a good and reliable vehicle. Make sure you buy it. Not in winter/ colder temps. Great in the dryer conditions.
