Safari autoplay video

Hi have noticed video does not auto play on safari 11 anymore. Below is my code it works on Chrome as it has to be muted. It just shows the poster image. Any Help.

Many apps and services allow videos to auto-play on the iPhone. This feature is sometimes convenient, but can also be very distracting.

Thankfully, it's very easy to turn off auto-playing videos on an iPhone that's running iOS 11 or later.  Here's how to do it.

If your iPhone is running the latest version of iOS 13, the setting to disable auto-playing videos is in your Accessibility settings. You can turn off the auto-play setting to prevent videos from auto-playing in any of the native Apple apps, including Safari.

1. Start the Settings app.

2. Tap "Accessibility."

3. Tap "Motion."

4. On the Motion page, turn off "Auto-Play Video Previews" by swiping the button to the left.

After turning this off, you should find that all native Apple apps stop auto-playing video.

But it's possible to control the auto-playing videos settings for iTunes and the App Store separately. See the next section for more details.

Before iOS 13, you only had the option to disable auto-playing videos in iTunes and the App Store — this setting doesn't extend to Safari or other Apple apps.

This setting remains in iOS 13, and if you want to control iTunes and the App Store separately from other auto-play settings, you can do that here.

1. Start the Settings app.

2. Tap "iTunes & App Store."

3. Tap "Video Autoplay."

4. Tap "Off."

Goings nuts over here — cannot figure out how to disable video autoplay in Safari.

Never did this on my iOS 14 XR.

Tried Settings > Accessibility > Motion but video autoplay was already disabled there.

Anyone have a solution or am I just missing something obvious?

Some websites—and others who provide those sites with content, including advertisers—automatically play video when you visit their site. Muting tabs and windows is a quick and temporary solution, but you can permanently block video for an individual website or for all websites.

on your Mac, choose Safari > Settings for [website].

You can also Control-click in the Smart Search field, then choose Settings for [website].

  2. Hold the pointer to the right of Auto-Play, then click the pop-up menu and choose an option:

    • Allow All Auto-Play: Lets videos on this website play automatically.

    • Stop Media with Sound: Blocks autoplay for videos that contain audio, but allows other videos to play.

    • Never Auto-Play: Blocks autoplay for all videos on this website.

  1. In the Safari app

on your Mac, choose Safari > Preferences, then click Websites.

  2. Click Auto-Play in the list on the left.

  3. Do any of the following:

    • Choose settings for a website in the list: Select the website on the right, then choose the option you want for it.

    • Choose settings for all websites that aren’t currently customized: Click the “When visiting other websites” pop-up menu, then choose an option.

You can see websites you’ve customized under Configured Websites. If you don’t see Configured Websites, either you haven’t customized a website yet, or you’ve cleared the list.

    • Choose settings for all websites: Make sure no websites are listed under Configured Websites [to clear the list quickly, select the websites, then click Remove]. Click the “When visiting other websites” pop-up menu, then choose an option.
