GAFCSC JUNIOR DIVISION STAFF COURSE 77 GRADUATES

The Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College [GAFCSC] Junior Division Staff Course 77 graduated in a short but beautiful ceremony on Friday, 24 June, 2022 at the College Auditorium.

In his role as the special guest of honour, Brigadier General [Brig Gen] Delali Johnson Sakyi [Rtd] urged graduands to employ credibility core values as future commanders and staff officers.

He advised the graduands to be astute, meticulous, steadfast and honest. He urged them to inculcate a high sense of integrity in the discharge of their duties, as personal credibility was vital to the career of these future commanders and staff officers. “Do not slumber on these credibility core values”, he intimated.

He also admonished the graduands to strive to uphold strong ethics and good conduct, especially, the codes governing Sexual Exploitation and Abuse as any breach may give the future commanders and staff officers a rude awakening.

He was confident the course had equipped the graduands with the necessary knowledge and skills — acquired through seminars and lectures — for Junior Staff and Command appointments in the future and expected the graduands to apply the expertise garnered from the course in the effective discharge of their duties. In line with the above, Brig Gen Sakyi [Rtd] reminded the graduands that this course was only one of the critical steps in their professional career development.

This year’s Junior Staff Course, which spanned 19 weeks, comprised 62 graduands made up of 50 officers drawn from the Ghana Armed Forces, an officer each from the Armed Forces of Liberia and the Armed Forces of The Gambia, as well as 10 officers drawn from the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Graduands who distinguished themselves during the course were awarded. The Everard Award was given to Maj DE Glah. Maj FDA Konadu, Maj SF Alhassan, and Maj R Incoom were adjudged the best, second best and third best, respectively, in the Assistant Commandant’s Paper.

Whereas Lt[Nigerian Navy] IS Chima was judged the Best Allied Student. Maj FDA Konadu was adjudged the primus inter pares[the best among equals].
