Jason Ray is a Managing Director in the FTI Technology Practice. Mr. Ray has over 34 years of experience in litigation support, technology services, and software development. He has deep expertise in all phases of the electronically stored information [ESI] lifecycle combined with a broad range of experience in software development, technology strategy, strategic planning and customer relationship management. In particular, Mr. Ray has focused his efforts at helping legal service companies implement scalable, high quality operations that deliver superb client service.

At FTI Consulting, Mr. Ray is a leader in the ESI lifecycle and technology consulting practice on the West Coast. Those services include litigation readiness, information governance, electronic evidence acquisition and analysis, document culling strategies, electronic evidence processing, document review systems and services, technology assisted reviews, and evidence production. He has personally managed dozens of multi-state and multi-national matters in the pharmacology, high technology, agriculture, manufacturing, retail and entertainment industries.

Throughout Mr. Ray's career, he has managed projects and provided services to most of the AMLAW 100 and several Fortune 50 corporations. He has spoken on electronic discovery and technology strategy issues for the Society for Information Management, the Open Technology Business Center of Beaverton, Oregon, and several industry groups in legal services and technology development.

Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Ray was Vice President of Operations and Software Engineering for Fios, Inc. Fios Inc. was a founding electronic discovery service company that targets law firms and corporations to help reduce the costs, risks and time associated with electronic discovery. Mr. Ray was responsible for re-engineering Fios' evidence collection, data processing, document review, and evidence production services to provide high quality project management and deliver repeatable, certifiable results. Mr. Ray was also responsible for Fios’ technology development in both their evidence management and document review systems.

Prior to Fios, Inc. Mr. Ray was engaged in several high technology ventures and legal service companies, most notably including being Senior Vice President of Operations and Chief Information Officer for Compex Legal Services, where he architected and implemented Compex’s industry leading enterprise software, and later ran their California Division evidence acquisition business. After Compex Mr. Ray started the scanning and electronic discovery practice for CP Document Technologies [now Advanced Discovery], served as an Entrepreneur in Residence to the Open Technology Business Center in Beaverton, Oregon, and was the Chief Executive Officer and founder of an online entertainment startup engaged in massively multi-user online worlds.

Mr. Ray completed a Bachelor of Science in Information Systems program through the University of Redlands, and was unanimously elected to the Whitehead Leadership Society. Prior to that Mr. Ray had been engaged in an aerospace engineering and physics curriculum at the University of California at Santa Barbara and the Santa Barbara Community College.
