Listen to My Voice sessions are approximately 90 minutes long and focus on creating learning opportunities and employing differential reinforcement techniques using Individualized Education Programs [IEPs] and Augmentative and Alternative Communication [AAC] devices.
Listen to My Voice is a two part workshop series that consists of:
Part 1: What is an AAC Device? This session covers AAC devices, assessing needs and preferences, obtaining funding, creating IEP goals, and is suitable for AAC beginners or those seeking a refresher.
Part 2: Best Practices for AAC Devices This session explores effective AAC strategies for different settings and situations, including modeling language, providing feedback, and promoting interaction and generalization. It also covers collaboration with professionals and caregivers for consistency and support. Ideal for enhancing AAC skills and confidence.
