Fantasy premier league gameweek 4 review năm 2024

Kyle Walker (£5.1m) is among a trio of Manchester City players to be picked in The Scout’s best XI for Gameweek 4 of Fantasy Premier League.

The right-back is the only defender to start each of the champions’ first three matches of the season ahead of their home encounter with Fulham.

Walker is joined by team-mates Erling Haaland (£14.0m) and Julian Alvarez (£6.6m) in a 3-5-2 set-up, with Haaland retaining the armband and Mohamed Salah (£12.5m) named as vice-captain.

Fantasy premier league gameweek 4 review năm 2024

Mark Flekken (Brentford) £4.5m

Brentford’s No 1 offers multiple routes to returns at home to AFC Bournemouth. Flekken has combined a clean sheet with one save point and one bonus in his previous two outings to collect 10 points.

Ben Chilwell (Chelsea) £5.8m

The Chelsea wing-back boasts strong home form ahead of a visit from Nottingham Forest. Chilwell has amassed 13 points in his first two outings at Stamford Bridge in 2023/24, thanks to an assist, a clean sheet and two bonus.

Kyle Walker (Man City) £5.1m

Walker has created five chances in the first three Gameweeks, only one fewer than he managed in the entire 2022/23 season.

Pedro Porro (Spurs) £4.9m

The right-back has helped Tottenham Hotspur earn back-to-back clean sheets since his first start of the season in Gameweek 2. Porro also recorded four shots in those matches, highlighting his attacking threat away to Burnley.

Mohamed Salah (Liverpool) £12.5m

Liverpool’s Egyptian is the only Reds player to start and produce attacking points in each of the first three Gameweeks. Salah has never blanked at home to his visitors Aston Villa, producing two goals, two assists and 26 points over those four meetings at Anfield.

James Maddison (Spurs) £7.7m

Spurs’ new playmaker visits Burnley on the back of a goal, two assists and 19 points in his first two away appearances of the season. Maddison’s eight shots and nine chances created are both team-leading totals for Ange Postecoglou’s side.

Raheem Sterling (Chelsea) £7.2m

His two goals, assist and 19 points against Luton Town have made the Chelsea star the top transfer target for Gameweek 4. Sterling has earned a hefty 844,000 new owners and will face a Nott’m Forest defence who have conceded at least twice in both of their road trips.

Jarrod Bowen (West Ham) £7.0m

The West Ham United winger visits Luton on the back of his season-high haul of 12 points against Brighton & Hove Albion. Bowen’s 11 shots, eight shots in the box and five shots on target all rank top for the Hammers in the first three Gameweeks.

Eberechi Eze (Crystal Palace) £6.4m

A home encounter with Wolverhampton Wanderers gives the Crystal Palace talisman the chance to collect his first attacking returns of 2023/24. Eze’s total of 16 shots ranks joint-top with Haaland among all players, while he has also created a team-high nine chances.

Erling Haaland (Man City) £14.0m

Over 91 per cent of managers own the Man City forward for his home match with Fulham. The Cottagers' defensive numbers show why millions of those backers will hand Haaland the captaincy. They have conceded 14 big chances and 27 shots on target, both more than any other side.

Julian Alvarez (Man City) £6.6m

The Argentinian’s 12 shots and 12 key passes mean he is one of only two players, along with Bruno Fernandes (£8.5m), to record double-digits for both statistics. At a cost of only £6.6m, Alvarez's all-round potential makes him a cut-price gem as a route into the champions' attack.

There was some exceptional scoring in the Champion J-League this week, thanks mainly to the hat-trick exploits of Wayne Rooney and Sergio Aguero.

Gameweek 4 review

We hate to say we told you so, but anyone that didn’t follow our recommendation of putting Wayne Rooney into their team at the earliest opportunity will be busy counting points lost this weekend, unless, of course, they had Sergio Aguero around to make up the deficit. The lucky managers who had both of them in their XI earned a handy 34 points, 51 if one of them was captain.

Unless you were completely ignorant of what was going on in the Premier League this weekend, you will have realised that the domination of the Manchester clubs continued unabated and consequently, those in red and sky blue continue to conquer the fantasy football charts.

Rooney and Aguero led the way with 17 points apiece this week after hat-tricks against Bolton and Wigan respectively. Interestingly, with eight goals, Rooney has scored more goals than every single team in the league apart from Manchester City so far, which speaks volumes for his and United’s mood so far this season.

Ominously for the rest of the league, Javier Hernandez marked his return to action with a brace against the Trotters, which earned him 12 points, the same total amassed by Phil Jones for two assists and a clean sheet. Nani, meanwhile, scored ten points after also picking up two assists, stealing the thunder from our other major recommendation for last week, Ashley Young, who had a quiet day on the left flank.

For City, David Silva continues to impress and set up two of Aguero’s goal on Saturday for 10 points, while elsewhere there were impressive showings from Stoke ‘keeper Asmir Begovic (10 points) John Terry (11), West Brom defender Nicky Shorey (11), Aston Villa midfielder Stiliyan Petrov (10) and our own Jonathan Walters, who continues to be criminally overlooked by Giovanni Trapattoni at international level.

Champion J-League

Take a bow, managers of the Champion J-League. The standard in the upper echelons this week was of the highest quality with only one team in the top ten (Hang your head Barca99) failing to register a score of over 77 points.

The fearless leader, Anton Leong, was rewarded for his decision to partner Rooney and Aguero up front in his side, Knee deep UTD, and with Rooney donning the captain’s armband, Anton scored a cool 81 points.

That was enough to put him ahead of the second placed-side, Declan McAnallen’s BlueSteal Elite, whose Manchester City dominated side (and Wayne Rooney) returned 85 points.

Declan was outdone by Robert Leavy’s FC Clunge (We’re detecting an Inbetweeners theme running through the team names in the league) in fourth place, who totalled 90 points thanks to the displays of Rooney, Aguero, Nani, David Silva and Vincent Kompany.

Despite that score, he trails the man with the best team name we’ve seen so far, Keith Coleman’s Ain’t got a Kalou, by a point in third place.

In-house, Nick Bradshaw continues to lead the way after a pretty good weekend for all the JOE heads, apart from editor Shane Breslin, of course, who rather pathetically tried to reason that his miserly 32 points was down to the fact that he was moving house. No excuses in this game Shane, we’re afraid.
