Rugby world Cup 2023 tickets Reddit

I am moving to the UK next year and would love to go to one match of the Rugby World Cup.

Unfortunately, I've coming to the party late and every game is sold out.

Is there a way I can find tickets or am I done for?

Hey, I have never gone to a RWC, so I have no experience with the ticketing system, prices, when to buy, etc. Do I have to buy within the first week of the tickets being on sale, or can I wait a bit longer? Do you have to participate in a lottery? What are normal prices[obviously pool stage games are going to be cheaper than knockouts, just like All Blacks vs France will be more expensive than for example Namibia vs Russia or something like that].
Thanks in advance!

Btw, i just looked it up. I found a website called rugbyticketservice.com that is already selling tickets. How? Or are they just a scam

Pls help.

I don't know if I'm stupid or just misreading but I can't figure out how the ticketing process will work. Tickets for individual matches become available on the 13th at 6pm CET. Will it be first come first serve on the website? Or will you place an order and hear a day or 2 later whether you've got tickets and then you have say 24 hours to pay or your order expires. I see there is a €3 96hour option, where you pay 3 euros to have 96 hours to decide if you want them or not. The 96 hours thing makes me think it will be first come first serve, but it seems stupid to do it that way because the aussies and kiwis are sleeping at the time?

Any guidance/advice appreciated.

Seems pretty in-line with RWC 2015 prices, which I believe was outlined in the initial bid.

It's a strange feeling seeing Japan's matches now being priced like other tier 1 teams.

EDIT: Because I'm a dork, I just went through and grouped each match based on the pricing tier they fall under. Thought it would be helpful for planning and budgeting. Obviously, the final stands on its on, but as for everything else:

Tier 1:

  • France v New Zealand

  • Semi Finals

Tier 2:

  • England v Argentina

  • England v Japan

  • South Africa v Ireland

  • Wales v Australia

  • France v Italy

  • Quarter Finals

Tier 3:

  • South Africa v Scotland

  • Wales v Fiji

  • France v Uruguay

  • France v Namibia

  • New Zealand v Italy

  • Ireland v Scotland

  • Japan v Argentina

Tier 4:

  • New Zealand v Namibia

  • Australia v Fiji

  • England v Chile

  • South Africa vs Tonga

  • New Zealand vs Uruguay

  • Wales v Georgia

  • England v Samoa

  • Bronze final

Tier 5:

  • Ireland v Romania

  • Australia v Georgia

  • Japan v Chile

  • Wales vs Qualifier Winner

  • Ireland v Tonga

  • South Africa v Romania

  • Italy v Uruguay

  • Argentina v Samoa

  • Scotland v Tonga

  • Japan v Samoa

  • Argentina v Chile

  • Fiji v Georgia

  • Australia v Qualifier Winner

Tier 6:

  • Italy v Namibia

  • Scotland v Romania

  • Fiji v Qualifier Winner

Tier 7:

  • Samoa v Chile

  • Georgia v Qualifier Winner

  • Uruguay v Namibia

  • Tonga v Romania

I feel like the communications around ticketing for this World Cup have been seriously lackluster so far... I think they're meant to announce individual ticket prices soon, as the final phase of sales is about to begin.

I can't find anything about it, but I'm assuming this World Cup will have an official resale platform like previous competitions. If you miss out on any matches the first time around, this is your best [and safest!] bet. It's worth checking every day. I picked up my ticket for the 2019 opening ceremony the day before I flew out.

Family of 7, all across the county, all on a call at 5am to get tickets.

Only person to get through is my tech-illiterate mother, who now holds the fate of the family in her hands. Rest of the family trying to talk her through it over the phone...

If it made sense and worked well, it wouldn’t be rugby.

level 1

2015, 2019 and 2023 have all had different ticketing systems and all of them have been janky as hell.

level 1

What a BS system, we stood in the queue for 1.5 hours and watched the percentage increase very slowly…we all thought getting to 100% meant we were closer to being next…but what it actually means is how close is the ticket allocation about to run out. Leave it to the French to create an almost Kafkian ticket vending system 😒😞😤

level 2

I'm fairly sure they're using a well known system called Queue.it which handles shit like this. A little out of pocket to blame it on 'the French'.

level 1

I don't know, it is my first time and I'm sooooo frustrated... We were 6 people, 2-3 devices each, loading the webpage at time T, and we got attributed totally random position in the queue. We got 4 packs then everything was gone..

level 1

On a slightly different note, I was having a look today, why is the two semi final tickets package more expensive than the final /bronze final package?

level 2

The bronze game is a throw in for these packages. It’s not important, the competition for 3rd place isn’t nearly as fierce as the competitiveness for a chance to play for 1st [hence both SF]. Think of the finals tickets as slightly higher in price than individual SF tickets. So if you double the SF price it’s going to be higher than the finals + throw in match they price much lower as it’s not significant.
