Set in Desert Hot Springs, within 15 km of Escena Golf Club and 18 km of Palm Springs Visitor Center, Azure Palm Hot Springs offers accommodation with a restaurant and free WiFi throughout the... We really enjoyed staying here. The pools were amazing, and very comfortably hot (the big pool being around 32°C, and the smaller ones approaching 40°C in temperature). The location is easy to reach from Palm Springs, and it's also convenient to get to Joshua Tree National Park. There's no activity in the surrounding area, making it a very peaceful and quiet place. Free parking is also nice. The staff was very nice. The cafe had just what we needed for a light dinner after bathing in the pools.

Oceanside

Mission Pacific Hotel, part of JdV by Hyatt is set in Oceanside, 8 km from MiraCosta College and 200 metres from California Surf Museum. The property was really beautiful. Everything was clean, the bars and restaurants on site were very convenient.

Thunder Valley Casino Resort 4 sao

Lincoln

Set in Lincoln in the California Region, 33 km from Sacramento, Thunder Valley Casino Resort boasts a seasonal outdoor pool and spa centre. I am not sure what I expected but it turned out to be a high end casino and resort. Very clean and looked new despite being open for almost 20 years. The steakhouse was phenomenal. We will be back!

Calamigos Guest Ranch and Beach Club 5 sao

Malibu

Located on the California coast, Calamigos Guest Ranch and Beach Club offers pet-friendly accommodation in Malibu. The property is well maintained on the nice hills 10 min away from Malibu beaches and beach clubs. Staff is always very kind and keen to help. We stayed in the Estate Room 1 and found it perfect for us. Full marks!

Located in Palm Springs, Desert Isle Resort, a VRI resort sits on seven acres and offers units with full kitchen facilities and free WiFi. Large comfortable one bedroom ground floor villa with lovely views of the swimming pool. Very quiet in August when we visited and we would return.

Calistoga

Near Mount St. Helena, this Calistoga resort is 5 miles from the Petrified Forest. It provides an outdoor pool and spacious rooms feature large bathrooms with a whirlpool tub. Staff were all incredibly friendly, particularly Carole. Willing to help in any way they could and always stopped to chat with us. The view from the pool area is incredible, location is perfect for the main street and overall the value for money makes this a perfect stay.
