Jump Desktop can be installed easily on Scaleways Mac mini M1 which allows you to connect to your M1 remotely while keeping its performance and efficiency.
In this tutorial, you will learn how to launch your Mac mini M1 development environment on Jump Desktop.
- You have an account and are logged into the Scaleway Console
- You have created a Mac mini M1
- You have installed a VNC viewer on your local computer.
Downloading Jump Desktop on your local computer
Type //jumpdesktop.com in your browsers search bar.
Scroll down to the middle of the page.
Download the Jump Desktop version that is compatible with your operating system.
Downloading Jump Desktop Connect on your Mac mini M1
From the Mac mini M1 list in your Scaleway Console:
Click the Mac mini M1 you want to access remotely.
Click the VNC button.
Choose a screen sharing application to open your Mac mini M1.
Open an internet browser on your Mac mini M1 and type //jumpdesktop.com/connect in your browsers search bar.
Choose your operating system.
Click Download Jump Desktop Connect.
Go to Overview tab of your Mac mini M1 and copy the VNC password.
Enter the VNC password to continue the installation.
Note:If you are on Mac, you will be asked to give access permissions to the Jump Desktop appplication.
Connecting your local computer with your Mac mini M1
On your Mac mini M1:
Launch the Jump Desktop Connect application.
Click Add a remote access user.
Click the link in the Add a user window to sign in via your web browser.
On your local computer:
Launch the Jump Desktop application.
Click File on the top menu.
Click Sign In on the drop down menu.
Sign in with the account used to setup Jump Desktop Connect on the Mac mini M1.
Note:Your remote computer is now displayed in Jump Desktop application and ready to be accessed.
Accessing your Mac mini M1 via Jump Desktop
On your local computer:
Launch the Jump Desktop application.
Double click your Mac mini M1 remote computer.
Your Mac mini M1 will be displayed.
