For older AMD cards such as the HD 5xxx or 6xxx series, you'll want to use v9.7. There are a few limitations with this version, such as no support for the CN7 algorithm which is required to mine Monero, but this is the only version of Claymore that will work with these cards. v11.3 supports the CN7 algo, but my HD 5870s will give me an error saying "NO ASM BINARY FOUND FOR GPU 0" every time.

Once you've figured out which version is the one you need, we'll get started on configuring it to mine for you. Download and unzip to a folder that's easy to find. If the miner stops or the computer shuts down, you'll have to go looking for it and nobody likes a scavenger hunt when money is at stake.

Included in the download is a batch file and a config file. You'll have to make a few changes to both of these before you can mine.

The batch file should look something like this:

setx GPU_FORCE_64BIT_PTR 0 setx GPU_MAX_HEAP_SIZE 100 setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1 setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100 setx GPU_SINGLE_ALLOC_PERCENT 100 NsGpuCNMiner.exe -o stratum+tcp://your.pool.address.com:port - your main pool -o stratum+tcp://other.pool.address.com:port - your backup pool -u "wallet address or username" - your worker -p "x" - your password for your worker The config file will look EXACTLY like the above unless you're mining on a pool that uses a username instead of a wallet address. In this case, you'll use just the wallet address. If you don't have one yet, open an account at HitBTC and use the XMR address for your account.

Now for the cool stuff that makes it run better (in most cases). Here's a list of common commands used in the batch file for various features and what they do:

If you want a v8-capable miner for older hardware, like what Claymore provided up to his version 11.3 for v7, and not afraid to pay fees (mine are 0.9%), take a look at my topic, and ask questions there not to pollute this topic with questions about a different miner. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3281187.0 My miner exists since the v7 fork, but since Claymore Miner was still updated, of course I never came here to advertise a competitor miner, but now Claymore explicitly advised to use other miners, so I think it's fair.

Maybe try mine, it's specialized in older hardware (CPU and GPU). I'm mining right now at 400+ h/s with my HD7850 2G https://github.com/jceminer/cn_gpu_miner It's almost getting annoying to read there's no decent CN miner for older hardware while my topic is on the exact same channel as this one and online for something like 6 months...

I am on win 7 64bits. Gonna wait couple of weeks more and if nothing good on 7 comes than go 10.

P.S. It's strange how it is "specialized" in older hardware but needs win10. Older hardware usually runs on 7.

Hahaha, xmr dwarfpool just upgraded its payment system. Look at the green notice: Payment system upgraded. Pool hoppers will be punished, stable regular users have more profits.

I mined for weeks without suspecting they gave me only 50% of the profit that they should. The moment I realized it I fled and never returned. I am on other way more honest pool now. Succers!

With the fork to V8 i can at least be profitable.

I used to use the below for V7

Take some time to read a page or so, he has been quoted just a few posts back. Oh, and TeamRedMiner works on ethOS, but you will need to update it on your own. And, ethOS will not read the hashrate properly for statistics. With "show miner" you will get accurate console output.

Plus, TeamRedMiner has a 2.5% fee. My Vegas get 2kH/s each, without jumping through hoops, and I gained 700+ H/s each. scryptr

Hi. Please help. Computer with one card - RX 290. Stay off for one mount. I start it , but not working miner. Clear all driver with DDU. Instal new drivers. Claymore ethereum miner - crashing without message. Zec miner mining with 0 mh/s Monero miner messages : GPU 0. GpuMiner dkla failed -36 GPU 0. GpuMiner dk2an0 failed -36 GPU 0. GpuMiner dk2an0 failed -36 GPU 0. GpuMiner dk2an0 failed -36

Hmmmm very strange. I set this variable GPU_FORCE_64BIT_PTR 0 and monero now working. On another computer with RX 280X everythin working with "0" or "1" .No different .

For ethereum miner: removed this from windows settings , and from .bat file . GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1 GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100 Miner starting normally.

After that , i put it back this two variables and... everything working again

Very,very strange for me.

Hello Mr. Claymore. Yes, please update your cryponote miner. As I am a developer myself, I somehow understand the current state you are in, but you have got to push forward now.

Fact is (For me for sure) that this is the ONLY miner I use that works PERFECTLY for all my rigs. The ONLY ONE! I am really frustrated that any other miner just can not bring similar performance.

Anyway, please just update to the newest algorithms, or open your code, pass it on to someone who will develop this in the future. Or do i yourself, take fees whatever. But it's a shame, that the best miner for crypronote is just standing still and waiting for whatever. If we wait for the next update, like monero will already have their next Algo update.....

As a developer you know, with great power comes great responsibility, act now.

This reminds me of the old days of BTC mining. Back then no such thing as PPLSS ever existed. And basically there wasn't that many pools and what people quickly realized was that if one certain day one pool has incredible luck while another has bad luck, people switched over. And what happened was after a day or so the mining payouts stabilized and the people made an extra 20% or so with their mining equipment.

I am really surprised that dwarfpool hasn't upgraded its payment system in the past. These days its usually only the very new coins which use those Prop pools and they usually have a very small block time so you can't pool hop as much with those.

You were our goto for amd mining... There are a lot of cryptonight algorithms turning a profit and we would like to request that you keep maintaining this great miner so we can keep it in PiMP OS. Thank you for your time and hard work!
