Innisfree jeju blackhead out balm review
In this post, I will be sharing my thoughts on the Innisfree Jeju Volcanic Blackhead Out Balm. Show Innisfree’s Quoted Description[Blackheads balm with oil massage] IngredientsMineral Oil, PEG-20 Glyceryl Triisostearate, Polyethylene, Polyglyceryl-6 Polyricinoleate, Tocopheryl Acetate, Citrus Unshiu Peel Extract, Orchid Extract, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Camellia Japonica Leaf Extract, Opuntia Coccinellifera Fruit Extract, Caprylyl Glycol, Glyceryl Caprylate, Volcanic Ash, Silica, Fragrance, Phenoxyethanol. Quantity & Packaging 30g of product in a circular brown plastic tub with a yellow label which gives off an earthy volcanic vibe that I assume they were going for. It doesn’t come with a spatula for taking the product out which is a little unhygienic but doesn’t bother me much as I’m the only one using it with my own washed hands. My ThoughtsThis balm feels quite thick and oily on the skin. When massaging it in, I can see blackheads loosening and coming up to the surface ready to be extracted, so it’s safe to say this does help in removing blackheads, however Innisfree’s claim is that this balm melts and dissolves blackheads without using any form of manual extraction – this may be true for some people with continued use over time but for me it hasn’t done that and I definitely needed to manually extract the blackheads that it helped bring to the surface, otherwise I would have been left with very textured and obviously clogged looking pores. As it seems similar to other balm cleansers, I tested to see how well it removes makeup and after 60 seconds of working it in over mascara on my hand and then wiping, there was still some mascara left behind, so I tried again with a little more product and then it was completely gone. The things I didn’t like about this balm are that it stings on areas with spots, feels dry and tight after and also has an old waxy smell to it. I can definitely get similar results using other cleansing balms or oils along with manual extraction so I wouldn’t say this is the best product out there – it’s just an okay product that some people might actually enjoy, but for me however I won’t repurchase it as I have other ways of dealing with blackheads + this product contains potential pore-clogging and sensitising ingredients that I suspect may have given me a few breakouts recently. I’d love to know your thoughts on this product! please feel free to leave other product recommendations in the comments section too 😀 I have a lot of blackheads on my nose and have been using this regularly specifically on that area when I wash up.
