Hi All
i have a Windows 2012 R2 server that has RRAS on it just handling VPN.
as of yesterday no one can now access the VPN.
under Services the Remote Access Management service wont start. it comes up with an error 1075 the dependency service does not exist or has been marked for deletion.
under dependencies there arnt any but looking at another server it should have a dependency.
i have tried removing the RRAS service and reinstalling it but i still have the same problem.
can anyone point me in the right direction please
i have since found that the Windows Internal Database has disappeared from the services list and i believe that is what it is dependant on, so i somehow need to find how to re instate it again
I have seen a server with a similar error caused by an MS update which causes server services to be deleted and not added back in the proper order as intended. To fix this I would try flushing the DNS cache, rebooting the server. Should this not work go to the old trusty system file checker. Put in the Server OS DVD and go into repair mode console. Then type in sfc /scannow as described here: //ugetfix.com/ask/how-to-fix-the-error-1075-the-dependency-service-does-not-exist-or-has-been-marked-for-deletion-on-windows-10
