Innisfree no sebum mineral pact review năm 2024

If you have oily skin, you will know exactly what that means. It means showering in the morning and seeing my face/hair oily by noon.

The fact that I live in Singapore, an all-year round summer country, [humid/hot/rainy] doesn’t help much.

After years of spending my school life trying all sorts of not-so-helpful things [like washing my face or wiping my hair], I stumbled upon this glorious product:

“Why did I find out about this product only now?”

“No-Sebum Mineral Pact” from Innisfree [with Jeju natural mineral and natural originated mint, 8.5g/0.29 oz]

It comes in this small grey box:

It works just like a make-up foundation pact.

After giving a few pats with the cushion, I dab the cushion on my skin/hair. [I use one for hair and the other for skin]. It immediately makes my hair/skin look less oily.

It looks like this inside:

My used pact

This is its sister product:

This powder form is 0.17oz/5g, compared to the 0.29oz/8.5g for the pact. It looks like this inside:

My used powder case

The pact version is slightly thinner than the powder version as you can see:

The pact version seems a bit wider than the powder version:

The pact version costs S$17.00, according to the Innisfree website. The powder version costs $10.00 [couldn’t find the one exactly the same as mine].

The products are available on sites like iHerb and Amazon, but I think the most convenient & cheapest way of purchasing these products is by just walking into an Innisfree store– as of 2020 August, there are 17 Innisfree stores in Singapore.

Here’s my take:

Pros

-Both products are very good at absorbing skin & hair sebum

-Compact; they’re both 5-6cm, so you can easily keep them in a small handbag/pocket of your bag.

-Aesthetically pleasing cases & nice blue color

-A way for you to keep your face from looking oily without having to put on foundation make-up

Cons

-Not exactly a limitation of the product itself; you’ll have to make sure you don’t dab too much powder on your skin/hair, or you’ll look like you were just snowed on. [I have experience]

-Personally, I find the powder case a little troublesome to open and close. [If you don’t close the lid properly, the powder might spill in your bag/pocket] That’s why I prefer the pact case, which I can close much faster than the powder case.

-Another reason I prefer the pact version to the powder version; for the pact form, I can simply dab on the pact with the cushion and then dab it on my skin/hair. For the powder version, I’ll have to tilt the case so that powder will come out of the holes onto cushion.

That’s it for this review! Hope you’ve found this post informative. If you did, please give it a like/comment! It’ll be even better if you follow my blog “Han Style” 🙂

Innisfree’s No-Sebum Mineral Powder is one of the popular K-beauty powders and there are even several other versions such as No-Sebum Blur Powder and No-Sebum Moisture Powder. I also came across the No-Sebum Mineral Colour Powder for colour correction!

Personally, I like to use a powder only on the T-zone area of my face which can get a bit oily by the end of the day [and VERY oily in summer]. The rest of my face is dry so I avoid powdering those areas :3

The Packaging:

The powder comes in a mint green plastic tub. After unscrewing the lid, you will find a small, soft puff applicator.

There is a hygiene seal when you first open the product and underneath, there are tiny square-shaped holes to disperse the powder. When you invert the tub, the powder falls through onto the puff. This can lead to some powder being trapped on the plastic under the puff [see 2nd pic].

The packaging feels sturdy however one thing which bothers me is that when I screw the lid on, it doesn’t line up with the base of the tub perfectly. However, I have purchased this powder before and didn’t have this problem – must be a manufacturing error!

The Consistency:

The powder is finely milled and is a plain, white powder so it will not even out the skin tone [unlike the No-Sebum Blur Powder which contains pigments].

The powder blends easily into the skin and it has a very slight mint scent.

The Performance:

On its own, the powder helps to even out the texture, leaving my skin looking smoother. If I touch my skin, it feels really soft and smooth!

On top of make-up, I find this powder can make drier areas of my face look a bit cakey so I use it on my oilier T-zone only. It helps to control sebum production and my T-zone looks less oily. However on really hot and sweaty days, it doesn’t stop my face getting shiny after a couple of hours

Another way I like to use this powder is on my hair when its greasy – like a dry shampoo. It is very effective at mattifying the hair at its roots so you can go another day before washing your hair. Magic!

Pros:

Softens and smoothes texture on skin

Puff applicator is soft and easy to use

Lasts a long time for a small tub!

Helps control sebum production on oily areas

Cons:

Powder can collect under the puff which can get a bit messy

Can cause make-up to look a bit cakey on dry areas

Doesn’t hold up on really hot days

Overall Rating:

4/5

Innisfree No-Sebum Mineral Powder helps to smoothe and soften texture on the skin as well as control sebum on oilier areas. It works well as a dry shampoo on greasy hair days and I find the soft puff applicator easy to use.

This can make make-up look a bit cakey on drier areas of the skin and sometimes the powder can fall through and collect under the puff though that’s not a big issue for me.

Overall, I would recommend this powder to those with combination skin who are looking for a good powder to set the oilier areas of their face. This may be too drying for those with dry skin to use to set their make-up. For those with oily skin, this may not control sebum production enough.
