2023 Hyundai Elantra N Line review

A budget version of the Elantra N, the N Line trim trades out the standard four-cylinder engine for a turbocharged 1.6L unit with more potent outputs. It also gets rid of the disappointing IVT and provides you with a smooth seven-speed dual-clutch auto transmission. With its unique N Line exterior elements, larger wheels, and sunroof, it looks more athletic and premium. Meanwhile, the Hyundai digital key is a novel piece of tech that lets you share the fun.

Is the 2023 Elantra N line fast?

For 2023 the manual has been discontinued, leaving a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic as the sole transmission choice. Due to difficulty launching the manual Elantra N Line we tested, our best 0-60-mph time was 8.6 seconds; the dual-clutch should be quicker. Fuel economy rates at 28/36 mpg city/highway.

What is the difference between Elantra N and N line?

Hyundai mates the N Line's engine to either a 6-speed manual transmission or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission (DCT). For comparison, the performance-oriented Elantra N has a turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder with 276 hp and 289 pound-feet that works with a 6-speed manual or 8-speed "wet" N DCT.

What is the difference between Elantra and Elantra N line?

The N Line has the Elantra's smaller touchscreen, but at least Apple CarPlay can connect wirelessly. The N Line's cabin has a different steering wheel, more heavily bolstered seats, a new shifter and plenty of red contrast stitching.

Will the Elantra N be discontinued?

What's New for 2023? The Hyundai Elantra N is a carryover from the 2022 model year, meaning it receives no changes. It does, however, become one of just two N-brand models along with the Kona N, as the automaker has discontinued the Veloster N and will not produce it for the 2023 model year.
